Ercle Elizabeth Crowder was born on March 22, 1927, the third of six children born to Chester Crowder and Sallie Julie Lunderman Crowder. She had three brothers: Melvin Ray, Boyd, & Doyle and two sisters: Lorene & Juanita. She was first married to Onis Couch Sr in about 1946 and together they had a son and a daughter. Mr. Onis Couch, Sr died in October of 1962. She would next marry William G. Stepp and he died on April 28, 1978. Somewhere along the way, Ercle or Urcella as some family called her, became known as Toni. She died 12 days before her younger sister, Lorene.

Toni E. Couch of Miami, OK passed away to be with her Lord, Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at Windridge Nursing Center in Miami, OK. She was 88.

Toni was born March 22, 1927 in Delaware County, OK to Chester and Julie Sallie (Lunderman) Crowder. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1945 and had lived in Miami for over 60 years. She had worked in the office of W.T. Grant and Hallmark Card Shop for a little time in downtown Miami. She attended First Baptist Church of Miami.

Toni was preceded in death by two husbands, Onis D. Couch and Billy J. Stepp, her parents and two brothers, Boyd Crowder and Doyle Crowder.

Survivors include her son Dwight Couch of Wichita Falls, TX, a daughter Norene Bingham and husband Jerry of Miami, OK, a sister Loreen Rion of Pendleton, OR, 5 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, and one great granddaughter.

Graveside service will be Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami, OK. Chaplin Debi Olive will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
