Abram was the son of Ebenezer Silliman and Anna Gold Silliman. He married about 1838 to Lucinda Bush. In 1840, they lived at Hobart, New York. From 1850 to 1855, he and his wife and three children lived at Walton where he was engaged as a miller. In 1860, they lived at Kortright, New York where Abram was engaged as a painter. In 1865, the family lived at Delhi, New York where Abram, going by Abel, was again engaged as a miller. In 1870, the family is back at Walton, where Abram was farming with his son, Charles.
