Maryann Bivins Thompson, 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2015, after an extended illness.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery immediately following the service. The family will visit with friends on Friday, September 11, 2015, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Montezuma to the late William Thomas and M. Erline Martin Bivins and grew up in Henderson. When her children were young, she traveled around the country making friends everywhere she lived. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning her home, creating a loving environment in which her family was raised. Maryann was an Inventory Control Specialist at Blue Bird Corporation in Ft. Valley for 35 years. After retirement, she worked part-time for Cox Concessions at Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. She was a member of Health & Happiness to You in Macon. Maryann was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a caring grandmother, sister, and friend to so many who will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by a brother, Walter Bivins, and a sister, LaNelle Albritton.

Left to cherish the memories of Maryann are her loving husband of 30 years, Rick Thompson of Perry; her daughters, Mendy J. Sullivan (Mike) of Kathleen, Lisa Price (George) of Cyril, Oklahoma, Kaykay Maddox of Warner Robins, and Kendale Wilson (Brian) of Camp Lejune, North Carolina; her brothers, Buddy Bivins (Maxine) of Byron, Billy Bivins of Elko; her twin sister, Virginia Ann Wilkes of Ft. Valley; her sister-in-love, Joyce Winters of Perry; her step-children, Wendy Thompson of Cedar Springs, Michigan, Patrick Thompson (Dale) of Ada Michigan, and Kim Thompson of Cedar Springs, Michigan; 4 granddaughters; 4 grandsons; 10 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
