Mr. Jasper Lauson Dixon, Sr., 87, died Tuesday morning (September 8, 2015) at Pierce County Nursing Home after an extended illness.

He was a native of Pierce County, but he lived most of his life in Albany, GA before moving back to Waycross a few years ago. A World War II veteran in the U.S. Navy, he retired from the Marine Corp Supply Center in Albany after 35+ years.

Mr. Dixon was a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Albany Chapter 450, Past Master of Albany Masonic Lodge 591, member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, York Rite Knight Templar, and member of the Georgia Cracker Radio Club.

He is the son of the late Noah Adam Dixon and Bessie Stella (Dixon) Dixon. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Grant Dixon; his son, Jasper L. Dixon, Jr.; one sister, Lottie Dixon Scott of Savannah; and one brother, Eugene Dixon of Columbia, SC.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheryl Delane Dixon Musil (husband Gary L.) of Charleston, SC; one son, Jay Mark Dixon of Charleston, SC; two grandchildren, Misty Danielle Musil and Christopher Mark Musil (wife Tiffany); four great grandchildren, Megan Danielle Berry, Jenzen Gary Musil, Shanti Crim and Naia Crim; one sister, Bonnie Murray of Waldo, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday (September 11, 2015) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
