Alonzel Archester Rhodes Sr., 83, died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at Central Miss. Medical Center in Jackson. Interment services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Clinton Blvd in Jackson with Interment in Lakewood Columbarium Garden Mausoleum III. Breeland Funeral Home of Canton is handling arrangements.

Alonzel (Al) was born January 26, 1923 in Blue Mountain Miss., Tippah County. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines. He retired in 1991 from his work as a Miss. State Alcohol and Beverage Control Agent.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Van B. Rhodes and Ethel Edwards, Son: Alonzel A. Rhodes Jr. Sisters: Bobbie Canoy, Blondene Strader; Brothers: James, Milton, Curtis, Elton, and Maynard.
