Funeral services for Alice Slater, age 89, of Milaca, will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 11 AM at Milaca Alliance Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will follow at the Onamia Area Veterans Cemetery.

Alice Slater was born October 14, 1926 to Samuel and Tillie (Dykstra) Adema near Pease, MN. She grew near Pease and attended country school through the 8th grade.

Alice was united in marriage to Max Slater on June 9, 1946 and to this union two daughters were born. Alice was a homemaker and also worked at Milaca Schools Milaca Elim Home. Alice was a 4-H leader, a Girl Scout leader and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where she served as president. Alice was also a member of the Milaca Alliance Church. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and gardening.

She passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Milaca Elim Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max in 1990; four brothers, Samuel, Theodore, Johnny and Jake; two infant sisters; sisters, Reka and Katie and great-granddaughter, Cheltsie.
