The son of Victor Sr. and Elizabeth (Lawson) Leaf, he was born at Breezy Hill, Kansas, on 23 Nov 1910, and married Ila Hanson at Burlington, Iowa, on 22 Dec 1937.
Surviving besides his widow are two sons, Gary Dean of Galesburg and Larry Gene of Knoxville; four grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Quail of East Galesburg; three brothers, Lawson Morton and Ellsworth Leaf of Chicago and John Leaf of East Galesburg; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Pherschy and Mrs. Lillian Evans, both of East Galesburg, and a half-brother, Leonard Quail, and a half-sister, Mrs. Ada Whittaker, both of Chicago.
Victor was a foreman at Butler Manufacturing Co. and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Galesburg.
Funeral services were held at Martin Funeral Home at Knoxville, with burial at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
