Lloyd Nugent Grindstaff of Bernie died March 1, 1994 at the hospital in Sikeston. He was 73.
He was born January 22, 1921 in Oran, son of John Henderson and E Nugent Grindstaff. He married Graphel Sue Thrasher Hicks on February 14, 1994.
He was a General Motors Corp, diesel mechanic in Pontiac, Mich., until retirement when he returned to the Dexter- Bernie area.
He was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church, United Automobile Workers and an antique car club. He restored a 1930 Model A. Ford pickup truck and a 1952 Buick, and during the two vehicles in competitions and parades, including the Fall Festival here in Marble Hill. He served in the Army during World War II.
Other survivors are a daughter, Joan White of Robertsville; a son, James D. Grindstaff of Cherokee Village, Ark.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, William P. Grindstaff of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a sister Mildred G. Stout of Sullivan; several stepchildren, step grandchildren and nieces and nephews. His wife, Thelma Eoff, a son, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Services were held March 4 in Dexter with burial in Bethany Cemetery in northern Dunklin County.
