Richard V. Halsey, 50, of Champaign, formerly of Olney, was dead on arrival at 6:55 p.m. Thursday at the Bumharn City Hospital in Champaign.
He was apparently electrocuted while installing a dryer in a residence in Champaign.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Heath and Sons Funeral Home at Champaign. Burial was in Grandview Memorial Gardens cemetery, northwest of Champaign.
The deceased moved to Oiney with his parents in 1929 and attended Olney schools, leaving here about the time of World War II. He later was retired from the Army after serving a number of years.
