Virginia Ann Lund was born on February 16, 1923, in Volga to Elmira (Lee) Nesson and Harold Nesson. She grew up on a farm near Volga with four siblings. Virginia attended Volga High School and graduated in May of 1941. She was united in marriage to Elvin Lund in 1942. Together, they raised four children and worked on the family farm. Virginia attended First Lutheran Church in Brookings for most of her life. Virginia had a great passion for her Lord, Jesus Christ. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and working on her crossword puzzles. Music was a big part of her life, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing.
Grateful for sharing her life include her children, Ennis (Nancy) Lund of Sioux Falls, James (Teresa) Lund of Sioux Falls, Kathleen DeBoise of Georgetown, Texas, and Douglas (Jackie) Lund of Winter Haven, Florida; as well as 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and husband, Elvin.
