Bessie Shizuko Murakami Inouye Will Be Missed GUNNISON, UTAH- Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Bessie Shizuko Inouye, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 17, 2006, at the age of 90. She was born in Toppenish, Washington, the third child of Denji and Kume Murakami. During the Second World War, she was sent with her family to the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp near Cody, Wyoming. There she met and married Charles Ichiro Inouye on March 8, 1943. Following the War, they farmed in Sigurd and Gunnison, Utah. Converts to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were sealed to their children in the Manti Temple, and sent five on missions to Japan. Bessie is survived by her sister Ruth Watamura (Hideo) and brother Frank Murakami (Keiko); five children-Dillon (Jeanne), Dwight (Jeannie), Warren (Susan), Elizabeth Ann Takasaki (Roman), and Charles (Rei), 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Charlotte, sister Masako, and brothers Isamu and Roy. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Gunnison 1st Ward LDS Chapel. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel in Gunnison on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and again at the Ward Chapel on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be immediately following the funeral at the Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. The family would like to thank family and friends who offered love and support, and At Home Health Care and Hospice for their compassionate care.
