Mrs. Lydia Cecil, daughter of Isaac and Hannah Brown, was born near Woodsfield, on September 27, 1865, and departed this life December 18, 1949, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Donaldson, at Mechanicstown, Ohio. She was 84 years, 2 months and 20 days of age.
On March 10, 1882, she was united in marriage with Lewis F. Gray and to this union were born eight children. Her husband, three sons, William, Clarence and Clinton and one daughter, Mollie preceded her in death.
She later was united in marriage with Jacob Cecil, of Woodsfield, Ohio, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Cecil leaves to mourn her departure, two sons, Herbert Gray, of Jeromesville, Ohio and Jesse Gray of Woodsfield; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Donaldson and Mrs. Alva Lowther, both of Mechanicstown; a sister, Mrs. Charlotte Jackson of Lewisville; twenty-six grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.**
She was a member of the Church of Lisbon, Ohio. Funeral services were held at the Woodsfield Church of Christ Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock with Evangelist J. Bernard Mason of Cadiz, officiating. Burial was made in the Moose Ridge Cemetery.
