This is a field stone found lying flat on the ground. All that can be seen on it is the name, Glass and 1-18-1859. Most have assumed that John (Jack) Glass died in 1860 but I have not found any document that confirms that. We wonder if this could possibly be his grave marker. We may never know for sure, but since he stipulated that when his land sold that there should be reserved a 1/2 acre plot for the family cemetery, we feel sure that he would have been buried here.
