Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, with Brother David McNeil and Reverend Jack Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Midway Cemetery, Treutlen County.
Mr. Sammons was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County and was preceded in death by his parents, G.W. “Crockett” and Georgia Kate Cooper Sammons, son, Cooper Sammons, brothers and sisters. He was a retired truck driver and diesel mechanic and was a member of Norristown Revival Center.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Betty Poole Sammons; children, Chuck (Pam) Sammons of Rincon, Jeff (Lisa) Sammons of Nunez, and John (Connie) Sammons of Soperton; grandchildren, Chris (Jennifer) Johnson, Landon (Caroline) Johnson, Jessica (Andy) Johnson, Jared Sammons, Matthew Sammons, Benjamin Sammons, and Josh (Kyra) Sammons; great-grandchildren, Paxton Sammons, Ian Johnson, Joshua Johnson, and Paisley Sammons; and sister, Doris Holton of Alpharetta.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
