The 1860 census recorded L[atitia] Brooks, 21, living in the area of Montgomery, Montgomery, Texas, with husband C. H. Brooks, 21, a farmer born in Alabama, and children: P. S., 2; and W[illie] A., 2 months.

The 1870 census recorded Lutitita Brooks, 31, living in the Danville community of Montgomery County, Texas, with husband Calvin H. Brooks, 43, a farmer born in Alabama, and children: son Willie, 10; Ida, 8; Mattie, 4; and son Jesse V., 2.

The 1880 census recorded Lettia [Latitia] Brooks, 41, living in Grimes County, Texas, with husband Calvin H. Brooks, now a preacher, and children: William H., 20; Mattie E., 14; daughter Jessie V., 12 [the 1870 census recorded Jesse as male, the 1880 census records Jessie as female]; and daughter Nara, 6.

The 1900 census recorded Lou [Latitia] Brooks, born, March 1838, living in Elgin, Bastrop, Texas, with husband Calvin Brooks, born Feb. 1827, and daughter Nara, born March 1875. They were living in the home of son-in-law Alfred H. Carter and his 8 children. Alfred had married Latitia's daughter Ida May Brooks, who had passed away in 1898.

The 1910 census recorded Lilishi [Latitia] living in Elgin, Bastrop, Texas, with husband Calvin H., and daughter Nara Brooks. She had given birth to 8 children, 4 of whom were still living.

Lived in Texas all her life.*
