Gloria Jean Dukes, age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015, in Comanche, Texas.
She was born on June 7, 1927, in Comanche County, Texas, to Isaac William and Montie (Auvenshine) Keith. On March 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to L. L. “Shorty” Dukes, Jr. at Rock Bluff Church. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1986. Jean was devoted to her family and was an excellent cook and housekeeper. She loved to sing, had a beautiful voice, and sang at church and at weddings. Jean was huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frankie Keith; and sister, Elsie Jo Welch.
