Inscription

In the vault under this stone are deposited the remains of George Pembroke Esq. 40 years Receiver General for the County of Hertford and Borough of St. Albans who departed his life 14th day of December 1793 aged 80 years.

Charles Pembroke Esq. Died 24h September 1802 aged 44.

William Pembroke died 15th December 1815 aged 69.

Also Elizabeth Pembroke died 14th September 1840 aged 89.

In the vault underneath are deposited the remains of Susanna relict of Charles Pembroke Esq and daughter of George Pembroke Esq and Adela his wife who departed this life April 14th 1816 in her 88th year.

To the memory of Mr John Hodges of Falcon Square London who died the 3rd day of July 1814 aged 67. A man devoid of all art and disguise except in the concealment of his extensive charities. His progress in every Christian virtue those who knew him best can tell. In gratitude for his private friendship in memory of his transcendent qualities William Pembroke his brother-in-law and proprietor of this vault directed this inscription to be placed.

In a vault here lies interred the body of Mrs Jane Osborn who departed this life July 1st 1734 in the 19th year of her age.

Also Mr Charles Osborn citizen brewer of London died March 17th 1745 aged 60 years and Joseph their second son died October 20th 1737 aged 7 years and Rebecca their youngest daughter died February 2nd 1741 aged 20 years and William their youngest son died September 19th 1745 aged 11 years and Charles their eldest son died December 20th 1749 aged 22 years.

Also the body of Mrs Jane Osborn widow of the above named Charles Osborn citizen and brewer of London who departed this life 23rd day of February 1750 aged 58years.

Also the body of Mrs Adria Pembroke second daughter and at length sole heiress of the above named Charles Osborn and wife of George Pembroke of Bath Esq who departed this life the 23rd day of July 1788 aged 70 years.
