George E. Whiten, 78, widower of Ruth Allen Whiten, of 230 Whiten Road, died Monday, August 2, 1999.
Survivors: sons, George W. Whiten of Anderson, Charles E. Whiten of New Mexico, John L. Whiten of Augusta, Ga., Samuel David Whiten and James E. Whiten, both of Anderson; daughters, Margaret W. Therrell of Anterville; two brothers and one sister; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Predeceased: parents, H.K. and Icy Sosby Whiten; a brother and three sisters.
Visitation: 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at McDougald Funeral Home. Service: 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
Memorials: the Hospice House of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, S.C. 29621.
