David was the son of William Samuel Marley (1880–1939) & Florence Ann Christopher Marley (1883–1965).

David married Eula Mae Bass (1907-2003) in 1928.

Four children:
• Florence Dean Marley Chansler (1929-2000)
• Dr. Albert D. Marley
• J. Donovan Marley
• Dr. Gerald Marley

David and his brother, Arvil, married sisters. David married Eula Mae Bass and Arvil married Ruby Fay Bass. The four were classmates at Tatum High School in New Mexico.

David Warnick Marley, 95, of Carlsbad died Dec. 5, 2003. He was born June 23, 1908, in Lamesa, Texas, and was a high school administrator.

Survivors include his sons, Gerald Marley, Albert Marley and J. Donovan Marley; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services: 4 p.m. tomorrow, crypt-side, Greenwood Mausoleum, Interstate 805 and Imperial Avenue, San Diego. Arrangements by Featheringill Mortuary.
