Former Wewoka resident Cora Mae Billie, age 77 passed away Thurs., June 23, at Tulsa. She was born April 12, 1929, at Konawa, to William and Nora (Cosar) McCulla. She attended school at Vamoosa. She married Joe Billie and they made their home in Wewoka.
Cora was a member of Hickory Ground #1 Church, Henryetta, Oklahoma.
Preceding her in death are her paretns, husband, Joe, brother Frank McCulla,, sister Mary J. McCulla, and son Jackie Lee Beaver.
Survivors include her son Johnny Sands, Okla.City; daughter Betty Downing, Tulsa; son William Billie, Wewoka; son Dusty J. Billie Sr., Tulsa; daughter Martha Wind, Cromwell; son: Jody Billie, Tulsa; son Joe Billie Jr., Tulsa; daughter; Rosanne Swartz, Tulsa; daughterBernice Cook, Okla. City.: son Curtis Ray Billie, Tulsa; 30 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Wake services were 6 p.m. Monday, June 26, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jess Wind, Rev. Mitchell Taylor, and Rev. Sandy Harjo officiating. Interment followed at Snake Creek Cemetery.
Pall Bearers were Rick Hall, Raymond Hall, Andrew Coody Jr., Billy Coon, Jerome Harjo, Tim Coon, and Anthony Coody.
Services were under the direction of Stout-Phillips Funeral Home.
