Aldona Goralski died August 19, 2015 at Red Bird Manor in Sanger, Texas at the age of 95. Aldona is survived by daughter, Geraldine Ann Sams of Denton, Texas and son, Robert Henry Goralski of Valparaiso, Indiana. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry E. Goralski on February 20, 1990. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and sisters-in-laws Rosemary and Veronica.
Aldona was born on April 20, 1920 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to Charles Eidukevich and Antionette Amszieute Eidukevich. She grew up and graduated high school in Westfield, Massachusetts. Aldona moved to Simsbury, Connecticut and worked at the Ethel Walker School where she met and married Henry on September 7, 1940 in Avon, Connecticut, marrying into the large Goralski family. Geraldine Ann was born March 23, 1945 following Henry's service in the US Army. Robert Henry was born September 2, 1946. Geri and Bob remember her as a loving, devoted mother who was attentive to their musical interests and activities, encouraging pursuit of their goals with an emphasis on education.
Aldona and Henry moved to Valparaiso in 1988 to live closer to Bob due to Henry's health and she remained in Indiana until her move to Denton, Texas in 1997 to be closer to daughter Geri. She lived independently until deciding to move to an apartment at Good Samaritan Village in Denton. Later, she moved to Red Bird Manor in Sanger, Texas and lived in this residential group home cared for by a loving, exceptional staff with Felisha, Amanda and the late Carla Mercer.
Aldona was an accomplished seamstress, and she enjoyed all types of needlework and cake decorating. She was an avid reader and unfailingly followed the Rangers, Mavericks and Cowboys. She often was the hostess and cook for extended family gatherings on holidays and weekends. As Bob and Geri moved on in school, she began to work at the Aetna Life Insurance Company in Hartford, Connecticut, working her way up to supervisory positions.
On Monday, August 24th, visitation and Wake service will be held at Vincent's Funeral Home on 120 Albany Turnpike at 10 AM. Interment and burial will follow at St. Ann's Cemetery. In the near future a memorial service will be arranged to honor Aldona's life in Denton in her adopted state of Texas.
Condolences can be sent to: Geri Sams at [email protected] or Bob Goralski at [email protected] In lieu flowers, donations may be sent to Good Samaritan Society at 2500 Hinkle Dr., Denton, Texas 76201 or a charity of choice.
