Bessie Alice Brown had a daughter out of wedlock, Hortense V. "Corty" Pryor Brown, raised by her grandparents as their own child. Corty married Welty C. Brown. Bessie Alice later married the child's father Walter Robert Pryor Aka Charles David Pryor son of David Prior and Josephine Elizabeth Sleasman, they had a daughter Beulah M. Pryor around 1898 and a son Howard Clayton Pryor about 1901. These two children appear in the 1910 Census in Charles A. Whitmore's household at Rocky Ridge and bearing the surname "Whitmore." Then they drop from sight, and most online trees ignore them. They clearly were born before Bessie married Whitmore and before she obtained her divorce from Pryor, that marriage ended in divorce (second) marriage Charles Alvin Whitmore son of George Reuben Whitmore and Maey Jane Newcomer.
