MRS. ALICE HOLMES
BELOIT, Wis. - Services for Mrs. Alice Lena Holmes, 89, who died Friday in Coffeyville, Kas., Memorial hospital, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer mortuary here. The Rev. Dale Strong will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery here. Friends may call in the mortuary Tuesday night.
Mrs. Holmes was born April 13, 1869, in Brimfield, Ill., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Storey. The family moved to Hastings, Neb., when she was a girl. She was married to Edward J. Holmes Jan. 22, 1896, and they lived in Hastings and several southern cities until he was transferred to Chicago by the Railway Express company. They moved here in 1916 and he died in 1937. Mrs. Holmes moved to Coffeyville in 1956 to live with a niece, Mrs. Guy R. Rogers.
