Martha Gilbert was born June 24, 1931 outside of Normangee, TX to her parents Wharton and Sally (Bates) Gilbert. She was one of four children two boys and two girls. Martha married the love of her life Alton Harrell and had two children of her own. She worked for a little while at a phone company, but was a stay at home mom for most of her life. Martha was always a good cook making meals an important time. She also loved to fish and cook the days catch. Her family and faith were the corner stones of her life and she will be missed.
Martha was preceded in death by both of her parents, Wharton Randall Gilbert and Sally Artie (Bates) Gilbert; her husband Alton Harrell; both of her brothers, James Arnold Gilbert and Wharton Raymond Gilbert; her daughter Lisa Bishop; and a grandson Billie Bishop.
She is survived by her daughter, Crystal Harrell; a grandson, Ricky Bishop; her sister, Eunice Hodges; and numerous nieces and nephews.
