Mary Ann Burg was born at Odell, Illinois, on July 5, 1870, the daughter of Matthew Malone and Catherine Willscheidt. She was married to Peter Burg in La Salle County, Illinois, on March 26, 1894.

Mary died at Aurora, Illinois, on September 18, 1948. Funeral services were held at St. Therese Church on September 20. She was survived by her husband and their son Frank, three brothers and three sisters.
