Mrs. Casper Freking Was Widely Known

Death claimed Mrs. Freking, 60, widow of Casper Freking, well known farmer in Stanton township at her home Thursday night, October 19, following an illness of several months. Mr. Freking died eight months ago.

Mrs. Freking leaves five sons and four daughters, Caroline, Joseph, Gregory, Agnes, Leo and frances, living at home, John Freking and Mrs. Leo Haverkamp of Remsen and Bernard Freking of Le Mars, her father, John Deters, of Le Mars and four grandchildren. She is also survived by six sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Frank Harpenau, Le Mars, Mrs. Theresa Reuther, Le Mars, Sister M. Fabran of Waverly, Iowa, Josephine, Anthony and John of Le Mars, Mrs. Elizabeth Puthoff, William Deters, and Mrs. Jos. Kokbeck of Salem, S. D. She was preceded in death by her mother who died 34 years ago, a brother FRank, who died at salem, S. D., a year ago, three brothers and a sister who died in infancy.

Born In Iowa

Mrs. Freking was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Deters, who came Oldenburg, Germany, and was born at Petersburg, Iowa, May 2, 1879. Her parents came to Plymouth county when she was two years old and she lived here ever since.

She was married to Casper Freking, February 16, 1897, at St. Joseph church in Le Mars, Rev. Father H. J. Meis performing the ceremony.

Mrs. Freking was a devoted wife and mother and highly esteemed in the community. she was a devout Catholic and a member of the Christian Mother's society.

Funeral Held Monday

The funeral was held Monday morning at St. Joseph church. The solemn requiem mass was conducted by Mgsr. J. D. Fisch celebrant, Rev. Father Frederick Freking, deacon, and Rev. Father Henry Weimer, sub-deacon.

The pallbearers were Isadore Harpenau, Aloysius Harpenau, Jas. Deters, Aloysius Deters, Theo. Reuther, Emil Puthoff. Interment was made in St. Joseph cemetery.

Wiltgen's were in charge of the arrangements.
