Levoy was a retired veteran whom proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the LA Cajun Culture and Music Club, Knights of Columbus, and Woodmen of the World. Levoy was also a notary public for St. Landry Parish and was a past President of the LA Tax Association. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at his camp on the Calcasieu River. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his son, Lonnie Dupre of Eunice; daughters, Lynn D. Wilks and husband, Richard Brown of Denham Springs, and Lori D. Johnson and husband, Jessie of Duralde; brothers, Eraste ''Crip'' Dupre, Jr. of Eunice, and Dale Dupre and wife, Jalayne of Lafayette; sister, Lucy McGee of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Jason Wilks, Ashley Rowe, Jamie Huval, Chasity Fruge, Skipper Johnson and Ryan Dupre; ten great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his son, Benny Dupre; parents, Eraste and Beatrice Darbone Dupre; the mother of his children, Dorothy Dupre; and brothers, Hubert, Chick, Abby and Emery Dupre.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Sunday, August 23rd from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday, August 24th from 8:00 am until time of services. Father Travis Abadie will recite a Rosary at 6:00 pm Sunday evening.
