Harvard resident, Waneta Pearl Eby, 92, passed away Monday, August 10, 2015, at the Sutton Community Home in Sutton, NE.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Harvard, NE with Pastor Travis King officiating. Interment will follow at the Harvard Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Waneta was born March 28, 1923, in Metz, MO to Ralph and Roberta (Coons) Estabrook. She was a storyteller about the great depression, of hard work and family pranks while growing up in White City, KS. She moved to Mojave, CA graduating with athletic honors. Waneta worked at Murrock Naval Base during WWII checking gauges on airplanes. It was there that she met and later married Charles Eby of Hastings, NE on March 3, 1945, in Bakersfield, CA. They settled in Harvard, NE to raise four daughters. Charles died December 31, 1975. Waneta spent over 30 years working as a caregiver in the Harvard Nursing Homes. Her hands were never idle, she always had a garden to tend or canning to be done, a yearly event she continued until the age of 90.
She is survived by her daughters, Charla Osborn of Ladson, SC; Robee and husband Bob Bigelow of Harvard, NE; Nancy and husband Norris Kalvoda Bernasek of Geneva, NE; grandchildren, Dale and wife Beth Ann Osborn of Coiti, CA; Becky Osborn of Ladson, SC; Craig and wife Lauri Schlachter of Blair, NE; Todd and wife Patty Schlachter of Hastings, NE; Melissa and husband Matt Hale of Manderson, SD: Robee and husband Dustin Karash of Harvard, NE; Anthony and wife Jill Wetherell of Brevard, NC; Christina and husband Tod Davenport of Lincoln, NE; Cassandra Kalvoda Wilkerson of Clay Center, NE; Jennifer Wetherell Whitesel of Kenesaw, NE; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents, step-father, Fred Cain; brothers, Loren Estabrook; Aaron Estabrook; Ralph Estabrook; sisters, Roberta; Lorine and Mary Silvey; brother-in-law, Wayne Silvey; daughter, Lora Wetherell; son-in-laws, Duane Wetherell; Alan Osborn; grandson, Ethan Whitesel; granddaughters, Waneta and Julie Ann Wetherell; Sarah Schlachter; great-grandson, Bailey Karash.
