A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she passed away from this earthly life on Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at 1:15 p.m. to be with her Savior for eternity. She was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, born in Oscar on Oct. 29, 1919. Preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joseph Avena Jarreau; a daughter, Gloria Jarreau Lofaso; mother and father, Blanche Porche and Francis Bueche; five brothers, Amedie, Louis, Frank, Howard and Harry Bueche; and five sisters, Nolie St. Romain, Julie Jarreau, Bathilde Andre, Angelle Olinde and Evelyn Boudreaux. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Juanita and Robert Page; a son-in-law, Bernard Lofaso; a brother, Elliot Bueche; grandsons, Lonnie Bickford, Troy Bickford, Bernie Lofaso Jr. and Mark Lofaso; a granddaughter, Karen Plauche; a great-grandson, Stephen Lofaso; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation was at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Visitation at St. George Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Tom Ranzino. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be L.J. Bueche, Murel Achee, Joe Mitchell, Emmett Jarreau, Ronnie Jarreau and Jeff Jarreau. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Jarreau, Cecil Jarreau Jr. and Chris Efferson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Community Pharmacy, 1647 Convention St., Baton Rouge, LA 70802.
