CARROLL BETZ
John Carroll Betz, 55, a resident of 1062 Circle-on-the-Green, Worthington, Ohio, died Friday at Cypress Hospital, Pompano Beach, Fla.
He was owner of the Charbetz Inc., of Columbus.
Mr. Betz was born July 17, 1924, in Gallipolis, son of Harry and Mary Straight Betz, who survive and reside in Gallipolis.
He is also survived by his wife, Joan, and three sons; John, Jr., Christopher White and Jeff White, all of Columbus; one daughter, Pam Ellwanger, Hilliard; two grandchildren; one brother: James N. Betz, and one sister, Mrs. Walter (Leola) Abblett, both of Gallipolis. One brother, Kenneth, preceded him in death.
Mr. Betz had resided in Columbus since 1949. He was a member of the Worthington Hills Country Club, Ohio and Columbus Builders Exchange, the National Cealent and Water Proofers Association. He attended Auburn University and was a graduate of Franklin University in Columbus.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Greek Orthodox Church in Columbus. Additional services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's Episcopal Church, with Rev. A. H. Mackenzie officiating.
Burial will be in Mound Hill Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be held by VFW Post No. 4464.
Friends may call at Schoedinger's Northwest Chapel in Columbus, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home.
