Stuart Alan Evans, 77, of Sistersville, WV, has gone home to be with The Lord on Tuesday, August 11, 2015.

Stu was born September 4, 1937 in Sistersville, West Virginia, the youngest of eight children to the late Alonzo “Zeke” Evans and Clara Reta Stewart Evans. Siblings that have preceded him before The Lord; Howard Evans, Mildred Evans Quinif, Wallace Evans, Donald "Zeke" Evans, Kathryn Evans Hickman and Dolores Evans McCoy.

Stu was a 1955 graduate of Sistersville High School; joined and served honorably in the United States Air Force and was discharged on the 20th of November 1961. Stu retired from Consolidated Aluminum Corporation in 1986 as their shift scheduling manager.

Stu, a member of the Jaycees was involved in sponsorship of local science fairs. He loved to travel after retirement, sightseeing and attending sporting events. In his spare time he would do odd jobs to help people in need. He was an organic farmer with a passion for the harvest. Stu lived in Macon, Georgia for a brief period.

Stu is survived by his sister, Martha J. Evans of Sistersville, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Wounded Warrior Project, Post Office Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66678.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 17, 2015, at Myers Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Dawson officiating. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites.
