Elner VaLois Roderick Bybee, our beautiful mother and grandmother, was blessed to pass away on July 31, 2015, after a short illness at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 20, 1927, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Elmer Hawkins Roderick and Genessee Luane Dawson, third of five children. She married her handsome soldier boy, John Raleigh Bybee, on May 1, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised their seven children, as well as several others, adopted in every way except legally. She spent her life in service to her family and neighbors, always remembering their birthdays. She was famous for her homemade bread and seasonal candies.
