"Job Throckmorton enlisted May 27, 1777, as a private, Captain Hendrick Smock's Company, First Reg., Monmouth Co., N.J. Militia, Col. Asher Holmes, and served every alternate month in 1777; six months in 1778; six months in 1779; six months in 1780, and six months in 1781, --during the Rev. War."
