William Allen Baker Sr., from Ash Grove, MO. On October 1, 1941 he married the love of his life, Barbara Louise Crayton. Bill and Barbara lived in Ash Grove MO., until Bill left for California, then the South Pacific during WWII. When Bill returned from service they moved to Mineral Point, WI., and farmed until Bill's passing in April 6, 1984. Barbara then worked for many years as a C.N.A. at the Mineral Point Care Center. She also did home care for several years. Barbara enjoyed her large family, especially getting together on the weekends when many stopped by to watch football, or just catch up on family news. Barbara was a wonderful cook and loved to try new recipes. She spent many hours gardening, including vegetables, beautiful flower gardens, and watching the food channel for new ideas. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels at her home in Mineral Point. She found time to attend sports involving her children or grandchildren and enjoyed watching various sports on TV. Boxing was her favorite sport with Muhammad Ali being one of her favorite boxers. Barbara enjoyed writing poetry, especially during her more trying times in life.
