Corbett was born on May 2, 1925, in Dry Creek, Mississippi. He was the 10th child of 11 children of Arthur Franklin Anderson and Virgie Grisham Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Euclid, Alverta, Troy A, Author Clelon, Ruby Mercedes, Virgie Wilma, Orbrey Dennis, and Woodrow C. and Garmelia.
Mr Corbett Anderson was one of Mt. Juliet's most popular and established residents.
Mr. Anderson was known for visits to hospitals, nursing homes and area homes that he made nearly every Sunday after church.
He attended First Baptist Mt. Juliet for approximately 60 years after moving to the city in 1952. Mr. Anderson greeted and handed out bulletins at First Baptist Mt. Juliet for around 40 years. He began attending Victory Baptist in Mt. Juliet around 2014.
After retiring from E.I. DuPont, Mr. Anderson also made hand-stitched pencil holders which he always had ready to hand out to anyone he came into contact with.
Mowing grass and other yard work were hobbies for Mr. Anderson at his small farm and elsewhere. He continued to work part-time at Bond Memorial Chapel until his death.
