OBITUARY IN THE ----------------------------------

At half-past eight o'clock on the evening of March 20th, 1887, the companions children and friends of David Burkholder, and old resident of the town of Harrison, were called to his side as his spirit took its peacefull flight from this to another home. He passed quietly,. He was born at Shipmansburgh, Penn., in 1811, where he spent his childhood and served as an apprentice three years at the cooper's trade. From there he went to Coshocton, Ohio, where he was married at the age of 25 to Katie Klindings at the age of 18 years. From there in 1856, they came to Wisconsin and settled in the town Harrison where they have lived ever since. Father Burkholder was the father of eleven children, one of which has gone before him to the other world. He was strictly honest in all his dealings and quiet and peaceful in his life. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He has gone and left us behind to await the summons that will unite us again. G. C.
