The son of John Earl and Lyda Murrell Fite, Wayne was born December 9, 1929, at Pecan Grove, Oklahoma and passed away at his residence on August 3, 2015.

Wayne married the former Alta Jewel Bernard June 3, 1948 at Holdenville, Oklahoma. They moved to Ardmore in 1967 where he pastored the Southwest Baptist Church. Alta preceded him in death January 31, 2006. He later married Deloris Swearingin Read, February 10, 2008 here in Ardmore.

Wayne graduated from Holdenville High School class of 1946, and began working as a produce manager in grocery stores at Wewoka and Holdenville. He was a member of a country western band in his youth.

Wayne began his ministry at Midway Church in Wewoka, then Calvary Church in Holdenville, and retired from Southwest Baptist Church in Ardmore after 27 years of ministry. After retiring, he served as the Chaplain at the Ardmore Veterans Center. Wayne enjoyed playing golf, fishing and working in his yard.

He is survived by his wife Deloris of the home, his son Alan Fite and daughter Traeda Caldwell, sisters, Maxine and Marie Bowen and Frances Jo Langford, grandchildren, Todd Epperley, Michelle Edwards, Chasity Lamb, Weston Fite, Kim Rice and Stacy Doughty, great grandchildren, Luke Edwards, Kya and Karter Lamb, Justin and Ethan Doughty. He is also survived by stepdaughters, Jamie Fackrell and husband David; Debi Read Lerkins and husband Brian; Belinda Leah Read and her husband David Kutlina; Elizabeth Annie Aleman and husband Josias; Rebecca Jo Branscum and husband Stephen; step grandchildren, Jeff Fackrell, Caleb, Krystin and Trey Branscum, Mateo and Lucas Aleman and two step great grandchildren Benjamin and Brooke Fackrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Stephen Bradley, brothers John Earl, Jr. and James Clifford Fite and his infant sister Velma Lee Fite.

Services will be held Friday, August 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ardmore with Dr. Robert Wilson, and Reverends Don Clark and Donny Custar officiating. Burial will be at the Oakwood Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. in Wewoka, Oklahoma.
