First husband of Catherine (Dougal/McDougal/Dougan) Blocher Mark (1770-after 1820). Christian and Catherine were married on August 19, 1793. Christian appears to have been married previously in about 1783. Christian's children with his first wife included: Mathias and Jacob Blocher. His children with Catherine included: Mary "Polly," Susannah "Susan," David and John Blocher. Christian was the son of Mathias Blocher (1722-1806) and Sophia (Holgin) Blocher. Christian was a Revolutionary War soldier from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His name is listed as "Chrristian Blocker." He served in the 8th Battalion under Capt. Jacob Wilhelm.

Christian died in Buckskin, Ross, Ohio. His will was signed in German. Parts of Ross County later became Fayette County, Ohio where his wife was living in 1820. It is possible he is buried in the same cemetery as his second wife, Catherine. Mark Cemetery is in Milledgeville, Fayette, Ohio, however many of the older stones have been lost or destroyed over time.

"The correct father for this Christian Blocher is Mathias Blocher (1722-1806) married to Sophia. This is an easy mistake to make since there were 2 Mathias Blocher's about the same age, living in the same area at the same time."

There is another Mathias Blocher born March 11, 1730 in Germany who died March 1803 in Manheim, York County, Pennsylvania and who is buried in West Manheim, York, Pennsylvania in the Blocher Farm Cemetery. According to the information I received above from Mary Blocher, this Mathias Blocher (1730-1803) would not be the father of this Christian Blocher.
