Elizabeth R. Holton was the daughter of William Holton and his wife Sophia Maria Waddell. She married Truman Hobert Huff on 19 December 1864 in Hancock County, Illinois. Son John Francis Huff was born 30 December 1865 and daughter Mary Belle Huff was born 29 December 1868. The couple divorced between the 1870 census and 2 April 1872 (Truman Huff remarried in 1874 and again abt. 1892).

On 2 April 1872, Elizabeth married Thomas Brown in Schuyler County, Illinois. Daughter Lizzie Brown was born about 1873. Thomas probably died shortly thereafter, as Elizabeth was shown with a stepson, James Brown, born about 1869, in the 1880 census.

On 3 March 1878, Elizabeth married Jacob P. Myers. Census records show 3 daughters of this marriage: Martha, Muriel, and Bessie. In the 1910 census, Jacob and Elizabeth were listed as married but living apart. In 1920, Jacob was listed as divorced and living in the Quincy Soldiers' Home, while Elizabeth was listed as widowed. In the 1900 census, Elizabeth listed she was the mother of 8 children with 6 living; in 1910, she gave that she was the mother of 4 children with 3 living. Six children as shown in the census were: John F. and Mary B. Huff; Lizzie Brown; and Martha, Muriel, and Bessie Myers.
