Mabel Mae DENNIS was the dau. of Thomas Elmer DENNIS & Elizabeth Catherine EDWARDS. She was the wife of Thomas Grover BRENTON and the mother of two sons.

"SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. MABEL BRENTON -- Funeral services for Mabel M. Brenton where held Wednesday, March 30, 1966 at 2:00 p.m., at the Methodist church, with the Rev. George S. Snyder officiating.
Pallbearers included J. F. Joy, Fen Fisher, George Muller Jr., Ed Weiner, Dennis Neal, and Henry Tyler. Flowerbearers were Izola Jenkins and Ethel Matthaei. The Music was by Carolyn Harris accompanied by Anabelle White. The selections were "Prayer Perfect" and "Sunrise". Concluding service and interment was at the Villisca cemetery, with Sutphen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mabel Mae Dennis, daughter of Elmer and Elizabeth Edwards Dennis, was born on July 20, 1883 in Taylor County, near Villisca, Iowa, and passed away at the Murphy Memorial hospital Red Oak, Iowa, on Sunday, March 27, 1966, at the age of 82 years.
She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth graduating from Villisca High School. She taught several years in the rural schools and in the Lincoln Building of the Villisca Public Schools. On June 30, 1909, she was united in marriage with Thomas G. Brenton at Villisca. Mr. Breneton operated a dry goods and ready to wear store until 1938, when he retired shortly before his death.
Mrs. Brenton was a member of the Eastern Star, the PEO, the Prescilla club, the Villisca Methodist church, and it's Woman's Society of Christian Service.
In additions to her husband she was preceeded in death by two sisters, Pearl Dennis, and Barti Lingo. She is survived by her two sons, Dean T. Brenton of Cincinnati, Ohio, and J. Paul Brenton of Dayton, Ohio; one granddaughter, Mrs. Paula Tesreau of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two great grandchildren; besides nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends."
