Gary Eugene Cook , 72 of Medina passed away Thursday June 18, 2015 . He was born June 16, 1943 in Greensburg, Indiana to the late Frank and Opal (Clary) Cook. Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed family fun with his children and grandchildren. He like travel, animals, and having adventures in the great outdoors. He was a 1962 graduate of Minerva High School and received his Bachelors Degree in Business from Baldwin Wallace in 1991. Gary (trail name Relentless) was a 2000 Miler having backpacked the entire Appalachian Trail with his wife, completing it in 2004. Gary worked in Canton at United Engineering, and Pioneer Meats and at Columbia Gas in Medina. In retirement he worked as a substitute teacher for Medina and Brunswick Schools, and spent many days finding interests and conversation in exploring the world around him.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharlene Bell and Marilyn Haynam. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Caroline Jane (Crabtree) Cook married 41 years; his son, Jonathan E. Cook of Columbus, OH; daughter, Kristen (Jay) Snyder of Granville, OH; and his two grandchildren, Cassidy and Jack Snyder.
A private family burial will be in the Wilderness Center's Foxfield
