Mary Lou Eubanks Becker, 85, of Golden, Colo., died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at the Denver Hospice in Denver. She was born on Dec. 6, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, daughter of Josiah Paul and Edna Jennie (Henry) Kinison and granddaughter of the Rev. Josiah Cook Kinison and Elinor B. (Miller) Kinison and James W. Henry and Carrie N. (Oakley) Henry. She is survived by her older son, Jack E. Eubanks of Aurora, Colo.; three nephews, Don Kinison, Michael Atkinson and William Rupinski; four nieces, Pamela Chadbourne, Marsha Kolesar, Toni Schneider and Patty Jones; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Philip Eubanks on Feb. 20, 2010; one brother, Raymond Kinison; two sisters, Margaret Potts and Pauline Atkinson; sister-in-law, Leota (Weatherford) Kinison; three brothers-in-law, Edward Percy Atkinson, Elmer Rupinski and Norman Potts; nephews, Raymond Paul Kinison, Charles Richard Kinison and James Rupinski; and niece, Nancy Potts Rossey. Mary Lou was a former city treasurer of Mt. Vernon having been elected to three terms of office from May 1961 to November 1972 when she moved to Golden, Colo., and became a bookkeeper for the Denver Catholic Archdiocese from which she later retired. While growing up in Mt. Vernon, she was a very active member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. After moving to Colorado, she then became a very active member of the First United Methodist Church in Golden, Colo., of which she was a member for over 40 years. She loved her church family, loved music and loved serving her God. She loved all of her family and friends very much. She took great joy living in Golden, Colo., at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, where there was a beautiful view each day. She was adventuresome and loved partaking in many of the activities the area had to offer. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Golden, Colo., with the Rev. Amy Strader officiating. Following the service, interment of ashes was held in the Tower of Memories building at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheatridge, Colo., where her cremains were placed beside the cremains of her son Terry in a columbarium niche.
