WASCO RESIDENT IS DEAD
Charles Adams, Pioneer, Striken
With Cerebral Hemorrhage.
THE DALLES, Or., Feb. 9.-(Special.) -- Charles Adams, a pioneer resident of Oregon and for many years a well known merchant of Wasco County, died suddenly from cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday at the home of a relative.
Mr. Adams was born at Clearwater, Neb., in 1852, when his parents were traveling to Oregon by ox-team. They located near Oregon City on a donation land claim. In 1871 he came to Eastern Oregon and engaged in stock raising. He practiced dentistry for a number of years in The Dalles, then formed a partnershmip [sic] in the mercantile business with Charles Van Duyn and located in Tygh Valley, where they continued until a year ago.
Three sisters, Mrs. Dr. Meredith, Miss Mary and Miss Poline [Pauline] Adams reside in Salem and a brother John Henry Adams in Portland. Funeral services will be held in this city at 1202 Jackson street at 10:30 Friday and interment will be under ths auspices of the Oddfellows Lodge.
