Mrs. John Peak was the former Ida Huntington, daughter of O. M. and Nancy Huntington. The Huntingtons were the parents of Will, Ida, Carl, Eva, Nellie and Georgie (died as a small boy - buried in Spangler Cemetery). The Huntington children were born in a settlement near what is now Osh Kosh, Wisconsin, and the family came to Girard in about 1877. The father Oliver Miller Huntington was a Vermont man, and the mother, Nancy Jane Barnes was a school teacher from Maine.
