FARMER FALLS OVER DEAD IN BASEMENT
Wilbur Hawver Of Butler Township Age 79 Years Stricken With Heart Attack After Returning To Home From Barn
Funeral services for WILBUR HAWVER a Butler Township farmer will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Methodist Church at Garrett with the Rev Robert Yunker, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Chapel Cemetery south of Garrett.
The body was taken to the Gerig Funeral Home in Auburn for burial preparations and was then returned to the residence. It will remain there until noon Thursday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of services. Mr Hawver was a member of the Garrett Methodist church.
Mr Hawver age 79 died of a sudden heart attack at his home at 8 pm Monday. He was going to the basement of the house when he fell over dead. He had just returned to the house from the barn. Mr Hawver had been in failing health all winter.
He is survived by the wife Mrs Cora Houser Hawver; a son Glenn Hawver at home; and two brothers Samuel Hawver of South Bend Ind and Ben Hawver of near Laotto.
The deceased DeKalb County farmer was born April 27, 1871 in Butler Township, and he lived there all of his life. He was married in September of 1892.
