Her parents were Sylvester Omar Spring and and Frances Fiske Merrick Spring.

Her siblings were Joseph, Lucy, Francis, Fordyce, Sarah, and Ellen.

Her brother Fordyce was a printer. He served in the Civil War representing Illinois with the 99th or 94th Illinois Volunteers.

Adelia first married Thomas G Trumbull** by the time she was 19. However, Thomas passed away two weeks after the couple married and Adelia continued to live with her mother per the 1850 Census. Frances, Fordyce, Sarah, and Adelia Spring Trumbull lived in Pittsfield, Pike County, Illinois.

Adelia next married Stephen H Twiford.** He was born in 1825 in Ohio. The couple married June 24th, 1851 in Pike County, Illinois. Stephen Twiford was a printer and would have worked with Adelia's brother Fordyce. The son of Adelia and Stephen was John Twiford.

By 1856 the Iowa Census shows Adelia with Frederick W Keferstein and her mother Frances Spring living in Winfield, Scott County, Iowa. Frederick was a merchant.

In the 1870 Census Adelia is living in Blue Grass, Scott County, Iowa with her husband Frederick William. The children listed for them in that census are John (Twiford), Louise (Twiford), Anne, and Carrie Keferstein. John and Louise were the children of husband Stephen Twiford. Both John and Louise were born in Illinois. The younger two children were born in Iowa.

Adelia lived in Ogden, Utah in 1892 the year before her death. Her son John Twiford was living there and traveling for his work as a manager of the telegraph industry.

Throughout her life Adelia gave varying information on census reports for her place of birth. Sometimes she gave Ohio. Others she listed Massachusetts.

Adelia's son John B Twiford is buried in this cemetery as well. He married Emma Virginia Ward. Their children were John, Fred, Dorothy, William, and Howard Twiford.

Daughter Louise married under the name Keferstein instead of Twiford. She married George Edward Peek in Davenport, Iowa on September 4th, 1873. Their children were Alonzo, Minnie, Olive, Rufus, Alexander, Ethel, and John T Peek.

Daughter Anna Keferstein married Charles P Tilden in Creston, Iowa on April 8th, 1885. Their children were Towles Thomas, Edith, and Samuel John.

Daughter Carrie Keferstein was born on November 4th, 1867 in Iowa. She went on to marry Oliver Marvin. Their son was John Marvin. Carrie Keferstein Marvin passed away in Los Angeles County, California on February 3rd, 1950.
