OBITUARY
Marilyn Pearl Durrant Nelson
August 12, 1935 - July 21, 2015

Marilyn Pearl Durrant Nelson, a most special and amazing Wife, Mother, Grandmother & friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2015 after being surrounded by family and loved ones. Marilyn was born August 12, 1935 to Sterling “Dick” and Emma Pearl Gray Durrant and was one of five children.

Marilyn married her sweetheart Max J. Nelson in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 24th 1954 and has been by his side for over 60 years. Her life was single-mindedly devoted to her husband and family and to the Lord. Marilyn’s countenance radiated, her brown eyes sparkled and her beautiful smile could light up any room. She always had a quick wit and ready smile. All who spent time with her could feel her love and warmth. Marilyn loved camping, playing games with family members and was an avid BYU and Jazz fan.

Along with her husband, Marilyn raised her five children in a house filled with love and laughter. She taught them to be proud of who they were, to stand by their convictions, to always be honest, and to live a life of integrity. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with every ounce of her being, as she frequently stated even during her most difficult days of failing health. She will missed immensely by all who knew her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Max, her five children, including, Bruce (Camille) Nelson, LeAnn (Bob) Whitney, Becky (Ben) Howard, Jill (Brian) Webb and Bradley (Daneise) Nelson, her sister Colleen Lawson, 20 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
