Ernest Fisher was fatally injured in a car accident early Monday morning. With his brother, Otto, he was returning from a visit with relatives in Greeley county, when their car struck a rough spot in the highway, skidded off the grade and turned over falling on him. His brother was unable to get help in time to save him. The accident happened on the Cedar Rapids-Greeley highway, west of the Greeley county line.
Ernest Friederich Fisher was born in Boone county on February 6th, 1912. He was baptized into the name of the Triune God at the Dennison church on November 3, 1912. On June 3, 1918 he became a communicant member of St. John's Lutheran church at Cedar Rapids.
The deceased reached the age of 23 years, 7 months and 12 days. He leaves to mourn his death, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Fisher; three brothers, Herman, Otto and Melvin; six sisters, Tena Naurenburg of Primrose, Carrie Brandt of Columbus, Edith Anstein of Oregon and Emma, Nellie and Ruth who are still at home; two nieces and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran church in Albion. Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.
