He arrived in New England 6 Nov. 1631 and settled initially at Dorchester, and then c. 1640 removed to Braintree before finally settling at Mendon c. 1663. They were among the first seven settlers there.

He was a tailor by trade and the ancestor of nearly all New England Aldridge lines.

George Aldrich has a cenotaph in The Old Mendon Cemetery, there has historically been an argument made that he is interred in Mendon. This is not the case as both he and wife Katherine have existing 17th Century Headstones in The George Aldrich Cemetery, Uxbridge.
