He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1965. He served three years of duty in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. On April 1,1972, he married Karen Springsted in Dodge City,KS. She survives. Allen worked at the Sublette COOP in the fertilizer department for 38 years, until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed hobbies including fishing, hunting, woodworking and art.
He was a member of the American Legion of Sublette,KS and the V.F.W. of Liberal,KS.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Wilma Avritt.
Funeral service will be on Sat.June 14,2014 at the Sublette Southern Baptist Church. Cremation took place.
